Here, they all come to renew their creative energy and to push forward in their creative journey. You must try this yourself! Whether you are traveling to Florence, or you are just looking for a true beautiful place. Join me in this beautiful adventure in Italy!

It's the whole package experience. This is a luxury workshop package - with photography instruction, hotel accommodations, food, transportation and the added bonus of a fully bilingual (English/Italian) instructor to maximize your experience and access to this lovely region. All you will need is your camera gear, enthusiasm and appetite to complete the picture and enjoy the amazing Tuscan cuisine!

Pienza and Montepulciano, Tuscany Photo Workshop 2016

Included in your package:

Instruction Personal attention to your custom photographic needs. Instruction on how to achieve and maximize you and your camera's potential.

Each day’s schedule will change according to location and weather. Unfortunately, I cannot control the weather. I wish I could! Typically though, the weather is nice towards the end of October. We could take photographs at sunrise and at sunset if conditions are right and dedicate post-processing mini-sessions during mid afternoon. This will be a small group of a maximum of 6 students, therefore YOU will get a chance to have your individual photo questions and concerns answered. I will dedicate the same amount of time to you as I will to the next participant equally. I will teach you the skills I learned by being out in the field on many of my previous workshops. I will instruct you on proper filter usage, whether it's ND's you are looking to use or long exposures. Composition and creative freedom will be strongly promoted throughout the workshop. Filter stacking, focus stacking, panoramic stitching will all be covered. My approach to learning is to get you out on the field and have you presented with challenging obstacles as I guide you on how to tackle and solve them. I also promote freedom compositions and creative approaches. Basically, the point is to allow you to bond with your surroundings allowing total creative freedom. It works! The less restricted you feel, the more you will produce artistically!

Hotel: Full 4 night stay at one of the best Agriturismo (B&B) locations of the Pienza Tuscan region, The Tenuta di Santo Pietro. Here you will have a chance to recharge, rest, and re-invigorate yourself while finding your creative inspiration. The rooms at the Tenuta di Santo Pietro are a dream! You will have your own beautifully appointed room which has been tastefully designed to complete your plush and  comfortable stay.

Food: The stay will include breakfast and an amazing dinner experience. The menu here is based on all of the local products and they will spoil you with their amazing culinary skills! (drinks/wine is additional).

Transportation: Daily luxury van shuttle service, eliminating the need to worry about car rentals and location directions. All you have to do is show up at the B&B!

What you need:

Bring your DSLR Camera, your lens of choice, including your wide angle and zoom lens. Pack your filters! You will need a neutral density filter as well as a circular polarizer to maximize your shooting while out in the field. A sturdy tripod is a necessity! A cable release will facilitate your camera focus, allowing your camera perfect stillness while firmly sitting on the tripod. A good experience out in the field is also had while wearing your comfortable outdoor shoes as well as warm clothes. Don't forget to pack a rain jacket just in case.

All of the rest is optional - however, I often carry my camera rain protection.

Payment policy
A $500 deposit is required to join and confirm your spot when registering. Once you have registered, you will receive a full PDF registration form with all of the details. The full balance is due 30 days prior to the start of the workshop. Due to the small group size and nature of the workshop, your deposit will be retained should you decide to cancel your reservation.

Cancellation policy
No refunds will be given if cancellation is made less than 60 days before the workshop start date. Therefore, I strongly recommend you purchase trip insurance.

General itinerary
Day one of workshop begins by mid-afternoon (after check in). Thereafter, we'll spend our mornings (sunrise) and afternoons (sunsets) out in the picturesque fields. During the day, we will explore some of Pienza and Montepulciano allowing plenty of time for street photography and exploring. I will also offer some afternoon meetings and walk you through many of the post production techniques and solutions that are commonly used today. Final morning (sunrise) of the workshop will end right after breakfast. Over breakfast, we'll go over final discussions and thoughts.

What is NOT included:

Transportation to and from the B&B on arrival and on departure day. You will have transportation catered only to the outings specific to the workshop between October 25th-29th.

Lunches will be on you. We will be out and about just before lunchtime, therefore sandwiches (or "paninis" as they say in Italy) will be fairly easy to purchase. Drinks and other snacks are not provided, although I will provide light snacks (e.g. chips, power bars) and water as we explore this amazing region.
